"Janet's Dream"
In 1998, Johnny & Janet acquired this '32 Ford locally and then, over the next three years, restored it to make it uniquely Janets'.
Throughout the three-year build they were challenged to stay between high-tech and original. This was an original rumble seat car but was converted to a trunk. The fenders, running boards, and hood were omitted, and other features like smaller headlights and larger tires were added.
Soon after restoration Janet wanted to take it to the Street Rod Nationals in Louisville, KY. Against Johnny's advice, they took the car. She had written Street Rodder Editor Brian Brennen and he agreed to meet them at the show. The car was reviewed, photographed, and published for the magazine, endorsing the quality of the build. Not bad for a car that was home built in the backyard. Ever since, the car has made many appearances at the Nationals and can be seen at local car shows and cruise ins throughout East Tennessee. As odds would have it, this build was completed just as the Hamblen County Car Club was being formed. This is the actual car that inspired the creation of the clubs' logo.
