1966 Chevrolet Chevelle - Convertible
In August 2001, I decided to take Evie to the huge county fair in my hometown. While walking around we spotted a tent where they were selling raffle tickets to win a 1966 Chevelle Convertible. The local band boosters had been raffling off a classic car to raise money for the local high school band for 14 years. We bought 2 tickets for $20. In early October we received a call telling us Evie had won the car. In driving the car home, I could tell it needed some suspension work since someone had patched the floor with a panel out of a junkyard car. A few months later I disassembled the car and mounted it on a rotisserie. I had built the and repaired the trunk floor with the correct panels and did some other minor repairs to the body. I then rebuilt the suspension system, engine, and transmission.
Upon remounting the body, I did some minor paint repair and did some interior work.
