1982 Avanti II
Upon retiring from 43 years of drag racing, I decided I wanted to build a street car, my choices were a 57 Corvette or an Avanti. I had seen a brand new Avanti in 1962 and loved it. As luck would have it, we spotted an Avanti sitting in a barnyard in Northen Kentucky. After negotiating for about 3 weeks, I finally struck a deal for the car.
I then completely disassembled the entire car and started repairing everything and also modifying it to meet my desires. Everything was disassembled on the car except for the windshield wiper motor. It took me four years to build what you see today. BTW on finding this car, it was the 8th one I had seen in my life. I have now seen twelve.
I took pictures during the process and have a booklet showing my work (see "Restoration Video" below).
